There's no indication she was kicked out of the family though? She said they abandoned her but they also say she abandoned Celphi. Meaning what most likely happened is they replaced the head of the house and didn't mourn the way she wanted them to so she felt stifled and afraid and decided she wanted nothing more to do with them. So probably she ran away without taking anything from them to rid herself of their influence, leaving Celphi behind. And despite knowing the big family secret/ having a very real target on her back should anyone learn of her identity, she feels like she hasn't escaped the family even years later because of the surveillance. So she goes back to kick up a fuss, knowing they won't hurt her and knowing the kid she abandoned was nearby, acting like she's been personally victimized by every single member of that family.
