Smart way to make us sympathize with MC’s selfish wish from last chapter tbh. I could understand, if not agree with, the people that killed him, since they had no reason to want everything they’ve worked for to be wished away by someone else. But framing it this way, in that they became monsters, is a convenient framework to close that door.
