Ella Walker looks back on her life atop a guillotine. She was forced to cancel her engagement with Prince Gil in favor of her stepsister Isabella and demoted to rule a desolate hinterland. Then, the resulting riot leads to Ella getting executed. But after the execution, she somehow ends up reincarnated ten years into the past. Having been given a chance to do it all over again, Ella is determined to live her new life freely, without being tied down. She gives up her spot as Prince Gil's fiancee to Isabella and decides to work hard to reform the hinterland as its new lord. I don’t recommend this unless you want to have brain damage.
Ella( FL) is the absolute Saint. Hardworking and kindhearted. She was almost perfect until later on she decides to compete against Isabella over ML 😑
Isabella: FL sister is the opposite. Self centered/narcissistic aka spoiled child. Only has her looks and her mother backing her tyranny. Likes to manipulate people using her body 😑
Prince Gil: I was hoping there would be a 2nd ML, but unfortunately he’s the ML. Has no opinion for himself “what my father the king tells me, I will obey” 😑 He’s kinda stoic/robotic. He knows of Isabella’s tyranny, but still wants to marry her just because his father wants it. So basically he’s trash.
Isabella’s mother(FL step-mother): She’s like the stepmother in Cinderella plus the illegal activity because she likes to bribe minor nobles. She’s just as terrible as Isabella.
FLs father: ???*crickets*
The King: He’s a dumb ruler. Also knows of Isabella’s tyranny but still wants to marry off his son to her 😑
In sum, the story has so many plot holes. A lot of things doesn’t make any sense. You’ll have more questions than answers. Who turned time??? Where was FLs father all this time?? I almost have aneurysm reading, so with that being said 2⭐/5
The MC reggresses after beeng executed on a false charge. She cut ties with her family and flees to the remote and rural domain of the kingdom with a thought of seccession, but lately become involved in a fight for the queen position. The MC seems to do a good job at administering tasks, although this isn’t shown, just the results; plus excells at diplomacy and relationships with the employees and lower classes. But she lacks wealth and support of nobility and the current king, at which her opponent, her stepsister, excells at.
The MC is rather smart, but mostly reactive, not pro. The protagonist’s character is writen moderately, neither flat, not deep. Others…. cardboard mostly with a few exceptions.
There are number of thropes (a lot, if you think about it), but the story seems solid. Or consistant, for a better word. The pacing is decent with a little lean towards the slow side.
Verdict – it’s not a waste, but you have little to lose by passing by. 6/10 (ch 43)

It’s not bad and on a border to be good.
